Government Degree College

Government Degree College, Chenani

GDC Chenani currently operates out of a makeshift building — a temporary girls' hostel belonging to the School Education Department — while a permanent campus is under construction. The new building is expected to be completed by the end of 2026.

Both Science and Arts streams were introduced when the college opened. Following the rationalisation of subjects, it now offers majors in seven disciplines, drawing a student body that is primarily from rural areas and for whom the college is a rare point of access to higher education nearby.

Academic delivery is anchored by seven well-qualified permanent teachers and a librarian.
